NBIMS Version 1.0 Part 1: Overview, Principles, and Methodologies - Available for Review

The “National Building Information Model, Version 1, Part 1, Overview, Principles and Methodologies” is now available for your review and comment:

The over thirty subject mater expert authors identified in the document have been working on this effort for over a year. It is estimated that from $300,000 to $500,000 in volunteer time has been donated to this effort and the industry can be truly grateful to each and every one of the authors.

We have tried very hard to produce a document that is not only readable but is also as accurate as possible. Keep in mind that a lot of this information was being developed as we were writing about it, making it an even more difficult task. This is the first time that this information has all been assembled in one place so we could take this snap shot picture for you to review. We will also be reviewing the document and helping to resolve some of the apparent disconnects and providing comment.

The review period will start on Monday, March 12, 2007 and run through Monday, May 21, 2007. We anticipate several focused discussion sessions on specific topics during the review period and will provide the dates for those in the near future.
