"Area Unit" should be "AreaUnit" for consistency with other classifications.

This typo (putting a space between combined words for classifications) occurs in a number of locations in the worksheet tables.

Numerous comments I posted over a week ago, mostly on format, grammar, consistency in font size used, paragraph numbering, missing table (A/R 66 PropertyType Classification), typos, consistency in Column Name entries (e.g. FloorElevationUnits [plural] vs. ExteriorGrossAreaUnit [singular]), etc. are no longer on the comment and review site.

I recommend that this appendix be given a thorough proofreading before it is officially issued as a standard under NBIMS.

I don't quite understand the logic of the statement. If the facility need not be spatially located, as spatial location is considered a higher level goal, why does the last phrase read, "to be considered a minimum BIM."? Shouldn't the item be worded (optional text in parentheses):

"The facility need not yet be spatially located, as this is a higher level goal not required (for the BIM) to be considered a minimum BIM."

In about 30 years in the architectural design practice I have not really heard the term "stovepipes" used in this way. Yet, I cannot think of an adequate term to replace it with. Pidgeon holes and compartments don't convey the same visual image. "Sectors" as noted by Andy Fuhrman may be worth considering.

Your comment regarding Chapter 3.2 is posted under 3.1. When I started posting I had quite a number of comments posted under the wrong chapters. I reposted them and revised the original post to say "Comment withdrawn, wrong section." That may not make sense here as you now have at least 3 replies to your comment.
